Wednesday-Friday
And that’s not all…
Happy Cinco de Mayo, friends! Are you ready to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage in style?
Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo isn’t Mexican Independence Day (September 16). The May 5th celebration actually commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French forces of Napoleon III in 1862, at the Battle of Puebla.
Now that we got the history right, let’s take a look at what’s happening in Shanghai tonight. Hey, busting out rhymes already!
Homeslice
Keeping the dough rolling, Homeslice has launched a VLE (very limited edition) Mexican pizza in honour of Cinco de Mayo. See the ingredients above? We’re expecting Sherpa’s shifus to make record-breaking trips to Found this Saturday. There’s also a wicked combo for those partying in the hood: slice + tequila shot for ¥45. Oh boy…
El Santo & El Luchador
While you’re at it, check out El Santo next door (or venture out further to Yongkang Lu). The Mexican hotspot is going all out with awesome taco deals, tequila by the bucket, a live Mariachi band and Latin dancers. Frozen margaritas for ¥25?!
Bordertown
We’re stoked about Bordertown’s all-day party with awesome free-flow deals and a DIY taco bar featuring both classic fillings and healthier fixings. For ¥100 per person, the event will surely live up to its name – Cinco de Drinko!
Pistolera
One of our favourite casual eateries Pistolera (Jinqiao location) is organizing a family-friendly Cinco de Mayo festival where fun stuff isn’t limited to kids only. Expect cooking classes and piñata kicking, Mexican street snacks and ice cold Corona buckets.
Cantina Agave
The busy corner of Changle Lu and Fumin Lu is bound to get even crazier as Cantina Agave welcomes all with top quality bites and sips for great prices. Entertainment is provided by a DJ and face painters, so dress up in your best Cinco de Mayo outfit and take your party over there!
Mayita
Shake hips to live beats from Shirley Maria and the band while sipping on Mayita’s brunch-famous margaritas. A firm favourite from last year, this popular event has limited tickets, so make sure to call ahead to guarantee your entry.
Cheers and have a great one!
