Born in Shanxi Province in 1927, Mr. Bing-Yi Yang moved to Taiwan with $20 in his pocket when he was just 20 years. He founded a cooking oil company named Din Tai Fung in 1958 and half of the location was devoted to selling Xiaolongbao Soup Dumplings.
Fast forward 14 years, and Mr. Yang converted his company into a full restaurant serving Xiaolongbao, pastries, and other Shanghainese delicacies. Din Tai Fung has been committed to making incredible food with top-quality ingredients and friendly service ever since. The brand has won many awards, including a Michelin-star at the Hong Kong branch and has expanded to 170 locations in 13 countries.
