Heads up, Shanghai residents!
Winter has come to an end.
Spring has arrived overnight.
Since February 26th, the average daily temperature in Shanghai has been above 10 ℃ for five days in a row. This means Shanghai has officially entered Spring!
It’s earlier again this year than normal, as Spring usually starts on March 13th. This is the fifth year in a row that Spring has arrived early.
“The Shortest Winter in History”
Winter started on December 25th last year in Shanghai and lasted for 63 days, which is more than 1 month shorter than average. The same length as the 1991 winter, 2021 winter is tied for the shortest winter in recorded history.
It’s only getting warmer!
Due to an upcoming cold air front, the temperature on the weekend will drop slightly with an expected high of 12℃ on Sunday. But from early next week, the temperatures will go up to an expected high of 20℃.
The temperature has been fluctuating a lot lately with big differences between daytime highs and nighttime lows. Take good care of yourself!
