What a tempestuous year 2020 has been; we don’t think it’s necessary to recall the biggest news stories of 2020. What we can say is it’s been a tough year for most of us, unless you’re the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos who saw his fortune rise by $74 billion in 2020.

But with Christmas just around the corner and a new, fresh year less than a fortnight away we can only hope that 2021 will bring us everything that 2020 couldn’t deliver.

Coin removed from man’s nose after 53 years 硬币在男子鼻内待了53年后被取出
The 59-year-old Russian man was just six when he managed to wedge the coin into his right nostril. Too scared to tell his ‘strict’ mother, he later forget about it and it wasn’t until over fifty years later that he began to complain about breathing difficulties through his right nostril.
It was soon enough removed and the man regained full nasal breathing, with an antique coin to show for it!

Train saved by giant whale

Okay, so it wasn’t an actual whale but none-the-less a sculpture of this majestic creature’s tail saved the life of a train driver in Spikenisse, near Rotterdam.
The train crashed through the barriers at the end of the track and would have ended up in the water below if the artwork hadn’t been in place to break it’s fall. The carriage is still suspended 10 metres above a footpath, but the driver got himself to safety and no one else was on-board.

Two men were arrested in Uttar Pradesh, India after they conned Laeek Khan, a doctor, out of £72,000 for an Aladdin’s lamp! Khan said one of the men pretended to be a supernatural figure that appeared from the lamp.
After paying out seven million rupees, Khan said that he realised the ‘genie’ was actually just one of the con artists in disguise and contacted the police. The men were arrested soon after and it became apparent that other families have also been cheated using the same ‘illusion’.
