After first launching as a travel guide in Paris way back in 1900 as a way to drive demand for cars (and therefore for car tires), The Michelin Guide has become the go-to guide for gourmands. That’s right – The Michelin Guide was indeed created by the Michelin tire company.

Shanghai got their first version of the guide in 2017, Guangzhou followed soon afterwards in 2018, and Beijing’s inaugural 2020 Guide will be coming out on November 28th of this year.

At the end of last week, Michelin officially announced the listings for the Shanghai 2020 Guide. It covers 130 different dining establishments with a record 40 starred eateries. We can’t wait to try them out (well, maybe we’ll wait a little bit for the hype and the associated lines to die down a little).
