5 Weirdest Beer Flavours

It’s a weird world that we live in and it only seems to be getting weirder by the week. So, when Friday comes around there’s nothing quite like sipping on a cold (alcoholic) beverage to wind down, and in case you want to keep your beverage in the theme of weirdness we’ve found 5 weird craft beers that you can enjoy. You might have to do some serious searching in Beer Lady if you want to find any of these…

Lucky Charms Beer

This Saturday Morning IPA by Smartmouth is not necessarily to be enjoyed on Saturday mornings as the name suggests but is supposed to remind drinkers of Saturday mornings, sitting in front of the TV eating cereal and watching cartoons. It uses toasted marshmallows and cereal marshmallows in the process to get that sweet sugary ‘Lucky Charms’ cereal taste.

Whale Testicle Beer

Yes, you heard that right. Hvalur by Stedji Brewery combines two of natures finest ingredients: pure Icelandic water and whale testicles smoked in sheep dung. It is brewed in the winter months and the Icelandic people enjoy it with rotten shark meat in honour of the thunder god, Thor. Incredible.

Super Spicy Beer

It’s not the alcohol content in Ghost Face Killah that’s going to blow your head off but the six chilli peppers used to brew it. This wheat ale by Twisted Pine Brewing Company uses ghost pepper, serrano, jalapeño, habanero, Fresno, and Anaheim peppers. It also has the blessing of Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghost Face Killah.

Bull Testicle Beer

In case you’re not a fan of whale testicles there is an alternative. Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout by Wynkoop Brewing Company started as an April Fool’s joke but was then turned into an actual beer after getting so much attention. Brewed with sliced and roasted bull testicles we imagine it has quite a ‘nutty’ flavour. Sorry, we couldn’t resist.

World’s Strongest Beer

wb5

We have seen this one popping up around some bottle shops in Shanghai, but yet to gather the courage (or money) to try it. Snake Venom by Brewmeister is supposedly the strongest beer in the world with a 67.5% ABV and so dense that it couldn’t be carbonated. Probably best to be enjoyed through the night and shared amongst friends.

Have you tried any of these beers, were they as good/bad as the names suggest? Let us know in the comments!
