So, we’re officially opening the scary movie season with Crawl. Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Pirhana 3D) returns to the water for this suspenseful tale of a father and daughter fighting for survival in predator-infested waters.

When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father (Barry Pepper). It’s not an inventive film with a ground-breaking plot but it delivers on what it promises. The realistic performances make the whole experience a lot more anticipating that will get you rooting for the flesh and blood characters. So, if are welcoming to a gasp, groan and wince at rising water levels and circling reptiles then you’re going to love Crawl.
