Well, nobody is more concerned about the health of animals than vets, who are urging pet owners to feed their cats and dogs on a diet rich in insects. The British Veterinary Associations (BVA) are claiming that some insect-based foods could be better than prime steak.

没有人比兽医更关心小动物的健康了，兽医会督促铲屎官给他们的“主人”喂点昆虫来平衡饮食。英国兽医协会宣称，对宠物来说，一些虫子做的食物比上等牛排要好得多。

Not only are insects extremely rich in protein but also provide an environmetally-friendly alternative to traditional pet food. It’s estimated that our pets are consuming up to 20% of all meat globally, however, the BVA believe it is much lower, at around 12%.

昆虫不仅富含蛋白质，也是传统宠物粮食的一种环保替代品。据估计，世界范围内小宠物消费的肉类所占比例达到了20%。然而，英国兽医协会认为这个比例大概在12%。

The vets expect some resistance from pet lovers but surveys suggest that many dog and cat owners would accept the change. So, this begs the question, would you consider feeding your pet an insect-based diet?

兽医预料这会收到来自昆虫爱好者的抗议，但研究表明养宠物的人一般都会接受这一改变。所以，问题来了，你会考虑给你的宠物喂虫子来平衡饮食吗？
