For many of us, a 21st birthday means meeting up with some friends, unwrapping presents and a having a drink or three. For Jaden Smith, however, hitting the big two-one earlier this week meant opening a pop-up food truck to hand out free vegan food to homeless people.

Jaden – the son of actor/singer/rapper/all-round legend Will Smith – opened up the aptly named ‘I Love You Restaurant’ truck on Skid Row in Los Angeles, with the aim of “giving people what they deserve, healthy, vegan food for free”. I Love You was only spreading the love with their free vegan bowls for one day, but Jaden says this truck is one of the “first of many”.

Having already helped launch ethical brand JUST Water – drinking water sold in cartons rather than plastic bottles – and contributed to water-filtration systems in the US, this is yet another one of Jaden Smith’s charitable ventures and one which we’ll be looking forward to plenty more of in the future.
