Yes! Good news! The city continues to relax and optimize pandemic policy.

For domestic travelers to Shanghai:

They are no longer required to register on the suishenban app or report to neighborhood committees, companies or hotels after arriving.

No PCR test is required upon their arrival. The previous requirement of three daily PCR tests has also been removed. Travelers failing to take a PCR test will no longer see their health code turn yellow.

Travelers will no longer be banned from entering a list of public places, including eateries, supermarkets and entertainment venues, for five days upon arrival.

No More PCR Tests For Public Transit & Parks!

The Office of the Municipal Leading Group for Epidemic Prevention and Control issued new measures that went into effect on Sunday, December 5th at midnight.
People are no longer required to present a negative PCR test result to take public transportation. That’s right – no more test results to take the metro, public buses, and ferries! In addition, outdoor public places including parks and scenic spots in the city will no longer require negative PCR results for entry.
The public is requested to continue to implement personal protection measures such as wearing masks, maintaining social distance, following correct hand hygiene, scanning site codes, getting vaccinated, and being considerate of others.
These measures can be further adjusted as the pandemic situation evolves and national policies change.
We love these new policies, but be aware that negative PCR test results are still required for the time being to enter restaurants, bars, shopping centres, supermarkets, beauty salons, hair salons, massage parlors, wetmarkets, and other commercial areas.
We’re seeing huge steps in the right direction though. Hang in there and stay safe, everyone!
As always, stay safe!
