A lot has changed since that last night at Dada Shanghai v1.0, way back in early January 2020.
We originally planned to open at a new space quite fast after that, but… You know, Covid happened.
Over the past year+ we have seen over 150 spaces all over the city — bigger, smaller, weirder, behind shopping mall toilets and beneath carparks, on floating boats, inside jewelry shops, under sunken ships, old bank vaults, ancient buildings, failed fancy restaurants, cat lady homes, etc etc. In the end, you end up with what you can get that actually works, all considered.
Dada Shanghai v2.0 had to adjust. It’s going to be a little different, naturally, but we think in a good way. We will carry on in the same spirit, with a few tweaks. The new Dada will be a little bit smaller than the old one. It will also be a nice place to get a quiet drink on a Tuesday night or whatever.
We are at 1303 Yanan Xi Lu @ Anxi Lu, right across from Colombia Circle, a 10-minute walk from the old Dada location on Xingfu Lu. We are near Dingxi Lu, a 5-minute walk from C’s bar, and also an 8-minute walk from hipster haven Yuyuan Lu. Also within a 5-10 minute walk from — Lotus Yunnan restaurant, The Cannery, Shufen Chuan Chuan, Yuyintang Livehouse, The Longemont Hotel, Panyu Lu, etc.
We are under the Yanan Lu elevated expressway.
We are currently in soft opening — some of the decors are still pending, and there’s a few things to fix up before our grand opening end of July 2021.
Hours: 9 pm-2 am daily, except we’re closed on Mondays. On weekend nights we go later.Starting now, we will have DJ parties every Friday and Saturday night.Our new signature cocktail and exotic spirits menu will be launched soon.
