sup1

Crispy, thinly-sliced square slices of pizza were invented by Chicago bar owners back in the post prohibition days as an easy and delicious way to keep patrons well-fed and energized during nighttime drinking sessions. There’s no better combo than pizza and booze!

Wayne

Chicago-born restaurateur Wayne Hou grew up going to his mom’s ice cream shop and his dad’s dentist office. He’s been in China for over 18 years, first cooking New York-inspired American cuisine in his Brooklyn Bar and Restaurant in Dalian, and now bringing tavern-style pizza to Shanghai at ZUP.
Keeping it simple and sticking to what he knows best is his formula. Likes: baseball, eating ice cream all year round, skateboarding and 360 flips, all things music especially listening to sad music when working out, independent movies, dipping his hands in rice barrels at supermarkets, nerding out on food formulas, and vodka sodas.

Lee

Coming out of Toronto, restauranteur Lee Tseng has been based in China for the past 20 years. As a founder of Boxing Cat Brewery and Liquid Laundry, Lee helped lead the charge for China’s craft beer movement starting way back in 2008.

By introducing artisanal beers within modern American gastropub atmospheres, these concepts showed folks what the craft beer lifestyle is all about here in this metropolis we call home. Having successfully exited his previous creations, ZUP Pizza bar is his next big challenge. Likes: Basketball, hip hop, spicy food, comedy, craft beer, searching for regional cuisine, singing George Michael and Jay Chou at KTV, and bringing people together for positive vibes.
