Although many believe that the first ever döner kebab was brought to Berlin by a Turkish immigrant by the name of Kadir Nurman, the first noted mention of the kebab in Turkish scripts actually dates back to 1377! It’s indeed believed that the first kebabs were simply grilled chunks of freshly hunted animals skewed on swords that Turkish soldiers would eat around open field fires.
