No. 7 [2022] Notice on Epidemic Prevention and Control of Suzhou
During nucleic acid tests given to fever clinic patients and those who asked to be tested, four positive cases were detected on the night of February 13. The results were further confirmed by health authorities.
Suzhou has immediately activated both the municipal-level and county(district)-level emergency response mechanisms. Relevant epidemiological investigation, sampling and testing, medical observation and disinfection of venues and facilities concerned with the cases are now in full swing. Screening, testing and management of involved people as well as collecting of environmental samples are well underway.
This notice hereby specifies the following rules:
1. Cancel all public gatherings throughout the city. Enclosed venues including cinemas, chess and poker rooms, internet cafés, karaoke houses, video arcades and pubs will be closed temporarily. All residents must wear face masks properly, reduce outings and gatherings, and avoid crowding at public places.
2. Postpone the opening of all secondary schools, elementary schools and kindergartens. The operations of offline after-school training institutions will be suspended for now.
3. All drugstores in Suzhou, both online and offline, should suspend the sale of antibiotics and drugs for cough, fever and fighting viruses.
4. Further strengthen the management of public transport. Strict controls should be adopted for rail transits, taxis (including car-hailing service) and buses. Passengers must have their temperature checked, present health codes (travel records), and properly wear face masks.
5. Seek medical treatment at a nearby fever clinic as soon as possible when you have fever, cough or other suspicious symptoms. Take proper self-protection measures and avoid using public transport.
6. All residents should avoid unessential travels outside Suzhou, cooperate with their employers and local residing communities in epidemic prevention and control measures, and strengthen self-protection. Businesses, where conditions allow, should encourage employees to work from home.
Do not believe, spread nor start rumors. The Joint Prevention and Control Headquarters will continue to release follow-up information on the situation.
