On November 15, the Shanghai Development and Reform Commission organized a hearing on the mechanism for optimizing taxi fares in the city. The adjustment plan submitted for the hearing this time mainly includes three aspects:
First, optimize the charging structure.
For example, the price beyond the flag-fall will be adjusted from 2.5 yuan/km to 2.7 yuan/km, and an additional 10 yuan/order will be charged during the Spring Festival holiday, National Day holiday and May Day holiday.
The second is to implement fluctuating prices.
The third is to establish a dynamic adjusting mechanism for benchmark prices.
According to preliminary calculations, passenger expenditures will increase slightly after the implementation of the plan. Based on the operating data for 2020, with an average distance of 10.1 kilometers, the passenger’s expenditure per order will increase from 43 yuan to 49 yuan.
