Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen currently has 3,100 stores in 25 countries, though it’s most popular in the USA with a legion of spicy fried chicken fans. Popeyes biggest rival KFC has already become an established fast-food chain in China after opening its first outlet in 1987 and now has more than 5,000 stores in 1,100 cities.

Numerous KFC dishes served in China can not be found on menus in America, however, Popeyes claims it will be serving much of the same fried chicken, biscuits and side dishes in China that has made the franchise so popular in the USA.

在美国,菜单上找不到肯德基在中国供应的众多菜肴。然而,Popeyes声称,他们将在中国市场提供跟美国一样的菜单,包含那些受欢迎的炸鸡、饼干和配菜。

Important: Sherpa’s Big Announcement!!

So, the other day we were hunting around in the office refrigerator for some nopales, Mexican cactus leaves, to grill for our company outing.

nopales small

These bad boys have a light tart flavour and crisp texture. Great for grilling and can even be put inside tacos. Yum.

But our Marketing Intern Apple Zhou slightly fibbed about her Spanish skills on her resume. And, as you may have guessed, she accidentally ordered peyote instead of nopales. Uh-oh.

Well, peyote is a psychoactive cactus that doesn’t taste nearly as good as nopales, and oh yea kinda important, makes you hallucinate like crazy.

peyote

When we came to, we realized we actually just spent three entire days in our underwear in the conference room with a projector and surround sound system playing non-stop Crocodile Hunter videos on Youku.

However in our altered state, in addition to pondering the nature of the universe and life itself, we got around to thinking about our name and our solidarity with our mountainous delivery bros over in Nepal.

We decided to live up to the Sherpa’s name and will be taking our delivery service international next month.

Now Delivering: Dim Sum Garden is Back!

Did you watch in horror as shop after shop on the stretch of Shaanxi Nan Lu between Fuxing Zhong Lu and Yongjia Lu were bricked up? Apparently, one of the higher-ups thought that having delicious restaurants and bars next to a college was somehow a bad idea. Dim Sum Garden was one of the last few hold-outs, and we shed some tears (ok, actually we curled up in the corner and bawled our eyes out) when they shut their doors for good. Only it wasn’t for good -they’re now serving up all the classic Cantonese dishes and delicious Dim Sum you could wish for at their brand new location on Baoqing Lu. But you don’t even have to venture out for fine dining, we’ll deliver right to your door.
